Absolutely in love!

Im a hypoglycemic trying to lose weight. I have to monitor my sugars and proteins closely. This app makes it a breeze! One tap and you know what you have consumed that day! The database seems a bit small or tricky to find what you are looking for but you can always add your favorite food (custom foods), do a quick entry, or find it in the database. Love this app!!! Good job guys :)!!

Very Pleased

I selected this application based upon some of the comments made here. My physician recently suggested that I begin taking medication for high cholesterol levels. After a bit of discussion he agreed it would be acceptable for me to begin a concerted effort at lowering my cholesterol by lowering my fat intake. I havent tried any other programs of this type but I find it to be very user friendly and a great way to track my efforts. A wise man named Thomas Monson has said “When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported, the rate of performance accelerates.” This app gives you the tools to measure your progress and provides an updated report (graph of your progress). Just that simple visual aid has motivated me to improve. And to top it off - the price is a bargain.

Outstanding!

I love this app! I find that when I use it consistently, I lose weight! Easy to use and easy to add custom foods. Its really the only way i can lose weight. I also love the fact that it has a good library of foods along with the fact that you can add custom foods!

Best app I have seen for tracking calories.

I lost 25 pounds!

This app is a convenient way to check nutritional information for a lot of foods, restaurants, etc. the only downside is that newer foods dont get updated for some of the restaurants, but the custom foods option is available to add anything, so I just put the newer restaurant offerings in custom and then make it a favorite food if I eat it a lot. I lost 25 lbs by using this app and recording my calories combined with my exercise (calories out). My challenge is that if I dont write it down, I go back to my old habit of over-eating and not exercising. I would have done great in Paleolithic times right!? I highly recommend this app or any of the food journal options that appeal to you most- keeping a journal is very helpful in losing or maintaining or gaining weight- the mathematical equation of calories in and calories out helps a lot for those of us that like to eat a lot of everything :)

Not worth paying for!

I like this app- but I like another free app better. For some reason this seems to have a lot of weird brands of food Ive never heard of- and not much of what I eat (foods from trader joes, whole foods and Costco) also- this sounds silly but the colors are so drab- it seems like a clunky free app, not a paid one. Look around there are better apps for free that do everything this does, and more

Excellent system to track progress

There are several options to customize foods you eat most of the time. Suggest new entries start with a "category word" so they are listed alphabetically together...such as "cheese Colby fat free" and "cheese Swiss sliced". The pie chart shows if there are overloads in carbs, fats or proteins. The option to repeat a meal entry, then edit it if needed, is very helpful, such as breakfasts that often repeat. It updates information instantly and its easy to navigate. There are a lot of foods I have to log myself because the database is limited, but after a few weeks many of the foods I regularly eat have been added to the favorites list. On the iPad the display is small and on the iPod it fits exactly. What is missing is a set of directions. Before the app I used the handheld CalorieSmart device but the app is so much easier. Try it!

Very useful tool for those who are ready to take the next step into healthy eating! As a nutrition educator, I highly recommended this app to help you reach your health goals!! Puts you in the drivers seat when deciding on food choices. The database of restaurant menu and brand calorie look-up is impressive. You can also customize your own food inputs. This app is a sweet deal for the healthy conscious people out there.

Great app, small bug

quick & easy to use, but theres a small bug: once you log your exercise for the day, you cant get back to the Overview (you keep going back to Quick Entry). Problem resolves itself if you exit the app for at least an hour.
